All Clear!

Happy Friday!! Mike and I are home from MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and I'm ecstatic to report that my scans were clear! NO EVIDENCE OF DISEASE!

Pound it!
This set of appointments at MD Anderson Cancer Center was different this time in a lot of was. The first and most game changing difference was I was meeting my new oncologist. My original oncologist had the nerve to retire after like 50 years of practicing medicine without even asking my permission. Whatever, Dr. Bedikian, whatever. ;) I'm sure it goes without saying that I was extremely nervous to be seen by someone new. I had developed such a wonderful relationship with Dr. Bedikian over the past 6 years. I trusted and respected him. I understood how he operated and he got me. He knew what I needed to get/hear in during visits order to leave feeling safe and healthy. This visit would mark the start of building a new relationship with someone else and that's scary! I can go more into this at another point if you're interested in more specific oncologist/patient stuff...just let me know.  Anyway, long story short, I really really like my new oncologist! He is a bit younger, but extremely confident and direct; both traits that are really important to me in my cancer care providers. It will be a long road to get to the place I was with Dr. Bedikian and we do have some changes to my follow up care as a result (ie. I have to go back in just 6 short months for FULL BODY scans) but that's ok. Whatever makes my doctor comfortable is what makes me comfortable.

Ok so, if you follow me on Instagram then you already know that I spent a whole lotta  time shopping/eating with a little cancer business sprinkled in there. Since moving to Alaska, I try to make my trips to Houston a little more focused on fun things like hitting all the stores we don't have access to up here in Alaska. It almost shifts my focus from scan anxiety to running around Houston like a crazy person trying to cram as much shopping as humanly possible into 48 hours. Trips to Houston now also serve as an excuse to squeeze a bonus visit in with either of my parents. It was Mom's turn to meet me in Texas so spending a little time with her (and having someone to watch Mike while I crushed it at the mall) was another nice perk. This trip I had another cool thing to look forward to, and that was seeing my friend Sam. Sam is actually my best friend's boyfriend who turned into my cancer friend when he was diagnosed with lymphoma about a year ago. It was nice to get together and talk about things in a way only another patient could understand. (Sam's scans were also completely clear, so shout out to Sam!!)

Now, as much as I love the city of Houston, the heat...now that's some bullllll shit!

I'm almost embarrassed by how poorly I handled the weather. I've lived in both south Texas AND Arizona and I was whining like a little baby. It made me appreciate the amazing summer weather we have in Alaska even more!! I don't think Mike was all that amused by the crazy temps either... I mean, he had literally never been in anything hotter than 75 degrees his entire life! I've said it before and I'll say it a hundred times over, I'd rather be cold than hot any day! You can always add more layers, but you can only get so naked...

Stolen from Sam via Brittany, completely unbeknownst to him.
Even though I did a TON of shopping, I didn't do much buying. Like, I couldn't even pulled the trigger on my pity purchase, which is very unlike me... I literally came home with two mugs, a hat for Mally, an outfit for Mike, and freaking Chipotle for Kyle. (Don't even get me started on flying that damn burrito bowl home...) Laaaaaammeeeee! I will keep you posted on the pity purchase though...this one will definitely be the craziest one yet and count for all special occasions for the next like 7 years. (HINT HINT!!! I'm having the hardest time deciding between this one and this one... Which one to you think I should get?)

Alright, I think that's all I've got to report. I hope you guys have a great weekend! Catcha Monday. :)

SAHM Fashion Crisis || SOLVED!

A few months ago I shared a personal dilemma with you. It's a very, very "first world problems" kind of situation, but you know how it is...Anyway, you can read that post here. The gist is that I've been struggling to define or identify my personal fashion style as it applies to my life as a stay at home mom. This dilemma isn't due to the fact that I don't care about my appearance, I do. I feel more confident and I'm more productive when I make an effort to pull myself together. As superficial as it may sound, my appearance is important to me. ME. The fashion dilemma also isn't because I don't have the time to get dressed or curate a new look everyday. In fact, I would estimate that I "get dressed" approximately 4-5 times a day thanks to my kids' unruly bodily functions and messy playtime activities. Seriously, the amount of bodily fluids I come in contact with daily as the mom of two under two would require scrubs in a professional setting. Why in the hell would I want to be dressed to the nines for a day of leaking breastmilk, spit up, pee, pasta sauce and dirt? I. WOULDN'T! I don't.

Here's what I do want... I want to feel good in the clothes I choose to wear. I want to feel pretty and comfortable but also not have to worry about that nastiness Mallory just wiped on me ruining my $200 jeans. I don't want to have to think twice about my choice footwear being comfortable enough for a trip to Target followed by a jaunt at the playground. What does this mean? This means I'm not buying heels to wear for two hours while I go out to dinner with my family on the weekends. It means I'm not buying those awesome button up blouses from J.Crew because they are restricting as all hell when you're carrying a heavy carseat, a thrashing toddler and your purse walking into the grocery store. It means I'm sure as hell not wearing those fun, trendy statement necklaces anymore because it makes my chest less snuggle-able to my infant son and makes me an easy strangling target for my toddler. I'm not going to put together a fancy-shcmancy, impractical outfit to leave the house for a few errands, only to change into something more functional the instant I get back home. The reality is now, I'M A STAY AT HOME MOM! I don't have a morning business meeting or lunch with a coworker or a cooperate training event at any point during my day. My day consists of caring for, loving, teaching, and playing with my children. My day consists of grocery store trips, play dates and housework. This is my real life and you know what? I absolutely love it! So why not dress the part? My part?

So, what is my style? How should I dress? What do I wear? I wear what works. Then I get one in every color. ;) For me, that means a majority of the time I'll be wearing, jeans, a fun tee and sneakers. Its a "look" that can be dressed up with a simple swipe of bold lipstick or by throwing on chic blazer/jacket or by adding a killer handbag. It's a look that is timeless. Most importantly, it's a look that works

Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of occasions when I browse Pinterest and build an imaginary, fantasy-land closet of awesome pieces that just don't work for me right now. Or I find myself swooning over my favorite fashion bloggers' latest #ootd. I enjoy fashion and I LOVE to shop, but I've decided that it is totally fun, exciting and satisfying to appreciate someone else's sense of style and their bold, fashion forward choices while simultaneously thinking "I wouldn't wear that." I guess what I'm saying I've learned is that a big part of my style, during this season of my life is function and that is perfectly ok! I can work with that. I can make functional, chic! Moving forward, I want to focus my fashion related time, effort and money on growing a collection of timeless, versatile, classic pieces while cultivating a chic and PRACTICAL wardrobe for myself as stay at home mom.

My hope is that this word vomit makes some kind of sense and that this "dilemma" is relatable for someone. I also hope you'll follow along with me as I periodically document my functional fashion finds and wear them on repeat with no particularly show-stopping deviation? ;) What about the occasional wish list post as I drool over the closet staples that I hope to add to my collection?

Remember I hinted at some upcoming subtle blog changes? This is kind of the biggest one...While I can't get behind being fashion forward (wrap your mind around that sentence) I'm definitely willing to drop some dolla dolla bills on skincare and beauty products...

Disclaimer :: I totally get that there are stay at home moms who are are truly passionate about fashion. They get dressed in things I couldn't pull off on the daily because fashion makes them tick. That is a-okay! Do you! Fashion just isn't that for me...

Random Friday Chit-Chat

Happy Friday! This Friday is especially awesome for us because it marks the beginning of Kyle's block leave!! Thats nearly two weeks of straight up family time. YESSS!!

I say "nearly" two weeks because Mike and I will be gone for approximately three days during that two weeks. My cancer scans kind of crept on us this time. By kind of I mean big time! I literally booked my airline tickets and hotel room this week...I leave on Monday. Way back when, our intention was for the whole family to go to Houston and kind of make it a mini vacay. At the last minute Kyle and I decided that we would save a couple bucks and our sanity and just Michael and I would go. (Flying with two kids, one being an insane toddler, in the arms of two parents really doesn't sound that fun after all. Flying with a breast feeding baby all the way!) Kyle and Mallory have big outdoor activities planned while Michael and I are away and Michael and I have big shopping plans in between scans and doctor's appointments. See, we all win here. ;)

Oh! Did I tell you we sold our house?! Well, we went under contract anyway. Hate to jinx it... As much as I enjoyed decluttering and having a clean house, keeping it clean CONSTANTLY really quite sucked. It's nice to be able to actually live in our home again.Toys out, dishes in the sink, you know, the good stuff. Even if we are only in the house a little while longer...

funny real estate ecard

Back to the whole, having Kyle around for two weeks part. I'm really excited to have him around to help me with Mal. To put it as delicately as possible, she's been a real pain in the ass this week. "No" is a straight up reflex for her! She is excellent at sniffing out a moment of parental weakness (ie. nursing her brother) and exploiting the hell out of it. I mentioned her sleep regression yesterday, and I'm tasking Kyle with un-f*ing that situation first, then can he move on to tantrum negotiations. I mean really, whose child is this? (Oh hush Mom and Dad! I can hear you laughing from thousands of miles away.)

parenting comic

I want all the tassel keychains! Remember several weeks ago I purchased this one from the Michelle Ensign Shop on ETSY? Well, I use it every single day and looovvve it!

leather tassel key chain

Then I saw this one (not freaking online, but it's pictured in the photo below) at H&M. Sidetone: Alaska finally got an H&M!!! It just opened last week. Needless to say we flocked... Anyway, It's only 5 bucks!! I mean really? That's basically free. So I tossed it in my shopping bag. I knew immediately what I would do; put the large black one on my Longchamp and the new colorful one goes on my keys. Easy. "But for $5 shouldn't I just grab a couple?" Really Amanda?! What are you going to do with 7304 tassel keychains?!

leather tassel key ring h&m

I should have gotten more... Oh! H&M also has a tassel keychain that is very similar to my ETSY one if ETSY isn't your thing. The only differences were the color of the hardware and obviously the "leather" on the one from H&M is fake... but it's still super cute!

Speaking of shopping, have I told you about my new ish "stop making so many random impulse purchases prevention plan?" I don't think I have... Let me preface this by saying I'm a shopper by nature, not a buyer. Like, I could spend 3 hours at the mall and the only purchase I make is a coffee from Starbucks. Of course that isn't always so, but generally, that's the case. What I've been doing is keeping a running "wish list" in the notes section of my iPhone. I only add items to this list when I'm not actively shopping. Then, when I'm out shopping or browsing online and see something I think I want/need, I consult the list. If it's not on the list, I don't buy it. Doing this for the past month or so has prevented me from purchasing no less than 15 things. THATS CRAZY! Crazy.

So, I've been in the throws of a blogging "come to Jesus" if you will. I've been writing this blog for a year and a half now and decided it's high time I really zero in on what I want things to look like. This all came about during my massive house declutter. I got the urge to simplify everything, including Marry Mint. Are these changes going to be noticeable to you? Maybe. The design will not change and as far as content goes, the changes won't be severe. The primary focus of this blog with continue to be my family, beauty and style, just presented a little differently. An example of the types of changes to expect would be : When I started blogging I intended to really develop my photography skills since taking photos is something I really enjoy. I've done NONE of that... The photography WILL improve on this blog. Another big thing is that I think I've finally come to a resolution to my fashion crisis...but that gets its own blog post. ;) I don't know. I guess it just feels good to have some peace about "cleaning" up my blog.

Hows that for a random ass blog post?! So we are going camping this weekend and I'm not sure how cell service will be, but I will try to update Instagram so you can follow along. Also, my trip to Houston is at the beginning of next week. We would greatly appreciate prayers for clear scans! Again, I will let you know how things are going via Instagram, so make sure you are following me there. (Shameless, I know.)

Talk to you soon and have a great weekend!

Mallory Susan - 21 Month Update

It's been a hot minute since Mallory had her very own blog post. Truth be told, it's tough to put her "updates" in writing because so much changes every single day! We don't have to go to the pediatrician as frequently now that she's older, so the hard and fast stats are harder for me to regurgitate. But oh gosh! This age is just too good, PLUS in just a few short months we will be celebrating her second birthday!

6 months vs. 21 months
weight || According to our scale at home Mally weighs 26.4 pounds. I think that's probably pretty accurate.

diet || Mallory really is a great eater! She is willing to try anything and everything, to include dirt, rocks and dog food. ;) She definitely prefers savory foods to sweet foods which is great 99% of the time, until my efforts to bribe her with a cookie or candy fall short. Some of her favorite foods are: salmon, oatmeal, pizza, pasta, broccoli, lima beans, eggs, bacon, sausage, raisins, grapes, apples, cheese, etc. Just like every other aspect of toddlerhood, she certainly plays food hot and cold--one day she will inhale an entire filet of salmon, only to be repulsed by it a week later. I think she just likes to keep us guessing... Ha! Also, since her brother was born, she has been getting a few ounces of breastmilk everyday. Why not, right?

health || *Knocks on wood* We have just been so fortunate to not have many illnesses with Mallory during her first 21 months of life. Sure we've had a cold here and there or a stomach bug or two, but really just one ear infection! I'll take that!

loves || Being outside, her brother, baths, puzzles, balls, books, climbing, playing in water, doing things herself, her bedtime bottle, music, helping others, Schatzi & LT, feeding the dogs, stairs, being quizzed, Rafi, animals, slides, rocks, dirt, things on wheels, etc.

loathes || Diaper changes, being put in her car seat, riding in shopping carts, Mike crying, being told she can't do something, being told what to do in general (so fun...), etc.

clothes || Mallory wears size 4 (occasionally size 5) diapers, size 5 shoes, 18 month pants and 24 month/2t shirts.

sleep || Oh the karma gods are getting me good in the sleep department with Miss Mallory! Just like her mama, she is such a light sleeper and really doesn't seem to require much sleep to function. The slightest sounds can interrupt her sleep. Lately she's been going to bed around 7:30-8pm and waking for the day between 5:30-6am. Her nighttime sleep was going quite well until we brought Mike home, now she wakes up a couple of times during the night again. :/ She usually takes a quick hour nap around noon or cat naps in the car as we errand hop. Her behavior seems essentially unaffected after nights of little sleep. (Her mom & dad should take notes!)

social || This may just be the most fun part of her age right now, witnessing her social skills change and develop! She has moved from playing alongside other kids to really engaging with them. We are lucky to have a couple of friends with children very close in age to Mallory, so she has lots of opportunity for interaction. I love watching her with her brother. Of course it isn't all sunshine and rainbows, but I just adore how she cares for him so deeply! What's also interesting is noticing the situations that make her uncomfortable or shy. She definitely takes a few minutes to warm up when we are in more social settings. She needs to sit back an watch for a little while, get her bearings, then she's ready to dive into the mix!

milestones || Mallory is able to string 3-4 word sentences together and can almost always effectively communicate her wants and needs to us. Of course there are a few rogue words that we have no freaking clue what they are, but she is able to get her point across 95% of the time. It seems she is learning new words and concepts daily which is totally insane! She is capable of following 2 step instructions (when she wants to) and as I mentioned earlier, she LOVES to help us do things. We are now starting to see a little of pretend play working its way into her activities. Interesting to say the very least... I would have to say that Mallory's favorite activity of the moment though is testing her boundaries with me and Kyle. Lord have mercy! Kyle is still trying to figure out why his "dad voice" isn't always effective--short answer; she doesn't always care!

You want me to what?!

And finally, a short little list of some things Mallory uses on a daily basis...

toddler essentials
one || two || three || four || five || six || seven || eight || nine || ten

Now, I feel like I could write for days about our little girl. I had no idea that when she came into our lives 21 months ago that my love for her would grow in intensity and depth each and every day. She has such an awesome sense of humor,  bold confidence and kind heart that makes her someone I quite admire. Before I really take off on the sappy, emotional train, I will just leave it at this...

Your dad and I love you kid!

Michael Robert - 3 Months Old

I'm happy to report that we have finally found our groove and have settled nicely into a routine... Baaaaaa!! Just kidding! Each day is a total shit show where I just wake up and have no idea what is in store for me that day. Most of the chaos is due to Mallory's incessant boundary testing, but Michael isn't afraid to get a little wild himself. ;) The good news is, we thrive on chaos in this house and probably couldn't be any happier. Ok, Kyle may appreciate a little more calm when he gets home stupid late from work, but who asked him anyway? ;) I've learned so much about myself since becoming a mom of two -- I'll have to tell you about it someday soon, but today Mike has the spotlight. Our sweet boy is THREE months old!!

Here is what's going on in his world...

three month old baby boy

Weight || I'm not sure. He didn't have an appointment with his pediatrician this month (well, at least I hope he didn't...) Based on his diaper/clothing size I'm gonna say he's grown a good bit. ;)

Diet || Breast milk. Except for the one bottle of cow's milk that Kyle gave him saying "it looked like boob juice! My bad." *insert wide eyed emoji here*

three month old baby boy

Health || Nothing exciting to report in the health department. Although I did notice a little cradle cap the other day, does that count?

three month old baby boy

Loves || Ceiling fans, lights, baths, being in his Ergo (except for when I need him to be in his Ergo), noise, peeing all over everything, his paci, Mallory, farting noises, being tickled and not wearing a diaper.

Loathes || I can't really put my finger on anything specific this month. He really is an easy going dude! It's almost as though he rewards us for our efforts. For example, if he is pissed off and crying because he wants his diaper changed but I start singing to him because I'm clueless--he'll settle down anyway. Like "Well Mom, you tried. Good enough." He doesn't particularly like it when Mallory body slams him, smacks his head or twists his toes while he's in the car seat...

three month old baby boy

Clothes || Mike is wearing size 2 diapers and 3 month clothing. He could probably go up a size in diapers and does have some 3-6 month clothing pieces in his rotation already.

Baby Gear || Still not much has changed since his one month update but I suspect the super simple gear days are numbered.

three month old baby boy

Sleep || Mike is a really good sleeper! (Compared to Mallory, who isn't?!) He takes a two hour nap in the morning then takes a sprinkling of hour long naps for the rest of the day until he is ready for bed around 8pm. When he goes to sleep at 8pm he sleeps for a solid 4 ish hours straight! Like Mallory did, Michael co-sleeps and during that first stretch of sleep he really doesn't care where he is, as long as he's asleep! This almost makes me sad...almost. No really, I love co-sleeping with our little ones!

three month old baby boy

Social/Milestones || He is like a real baby now!! Ah I just can't get enough of his sweet little voice and his huge mouthy smile. Michael has a little sense of humor that is all his own and sure does love to watch his sister. I'm so excited to be finally getting to know his personality a bit more! He is rolling over and does a pretty decent job of controlling his head. Mike spends a decent amount of time each day trying to get his fist in his mouth. Consequently, I spend a decent amount of time each day giggling at his efforts. :)

Aaaaand, I think that's about it! Hope your week is going well so far. :)

You can compare notes and check out Mallory's 3 month update here!

Recent Beauty Favorites

Lately my beauty "routine" has been more hurried than ever. In fact, I've just about mastered applying everything with just one hand! The rushed, paired down makeup situation has nothing to do with being busy trying to sell the house, or even with having two kids--the issue is Mallory. Good lord that child gets into EVERYTHING lately! Seriously, a one man wrecking crew. She seems to go particularly buck wild in my make-up drawers/bathroom. The best solution I've come up with so far is to simply hold her while I'm getting ready. Sounds fun, right? No. No, it's not.

What was I really going to talking about? Oh! Beauty products. Anyway, just because getting ready has become a little more chaotic doesn't mean I haven't still enjoyed trying new products. (Even if it means using them after Mallory has gone to bed for the night. Ha! Hey, this stuff is just supposed to be fun, right?)

Now, on to the goods!!

dr. marvey nail it

Dr. MarVey "Nail It" || I literally stumbled upon this stuff by happenstance at our PX. I wasn't even looking for nail stuff, swear! Anyway, it claims to offer the hardness of artificial nails without the damage. It can be used on its own or as the base coat for a regular nail color. The price was right so this baby made its way into my shopping cart. After using this stuff several times, I can safely say I won't be doing my nails without it anytime soon! It gives me at least two additional days when I use it with regular polish and makes my nails look so healthy and strong on its own. I'd never heard of this brand until now, so I went online and poked around...so many things I want to try!

borghese blush review

Borghese Eclissare ColorRise Blush in "Flight" || This is 10000% not a blush shade I would reach for at the beauty counter. So when I got it in the mail I kind of just pushed it to the side and forgot about it. That is until one morning we were running late and I was doing the "toss my quick and easy make up in my purse on the way out the door to do in the car" number. I saw this and thought "hmm bronzer/cheek color in one? Coming with me!" It wasn't until I caught a glimpse of my face in the mirror later in the day that I was intrigued. I think it totally works on my fair skin! I don't contour when I wear it or anything like that, just a dab on the cheeks, forehead and nose -- done! Plus, the little shimmer effect it has it perfect for summer and just makes you look awake and alive!

benefit eye bright pencil review

Benefit Eye Bright Pencil (on sale!!!!) || Speaking of awake and alive...My goodness! So, I ran out of this recently and took a few weeks to replace it... I seriously feel for anyone who saw my mug during those weeks without--woof! Never again will I wait until its gone to purchase a new one. This stuff is just mandatory for me, plain and simple. I apply this to the inner and outer corner of my eyes then blend it out with my finger. Bam! Fake awake.

kate somerville lip treatment

Kate Somerville Quench and Correct Lip Treatment || Admittedly, I've only had this lip product for a couple of weeks, but I've been using it so regularly that I figured it was ok to include. Is this something you like have to run out and buy right away? No. Is it going to totally change your life? No. However, it is a no fuss, effective product. It isn't a lip moisturizer that I feel like I need to apply 9000 times a day. I apply it once at night then forget about it. It's easy and it makes my lips feel great!

mac lipstick "pink plaid"

MAC Lipstick in "Pink Plaid" || This lip color has been all up on my Instagram ever since I got it. It is quite possibly my new favorite. Pink Plaid is one of MAC's matte formulas, but not Ruby Woo style in that it isn't super drying. It seems to stay put on my lips and goes with just about everything. I think this is the perfect, cool toned, every day, pink lip stick!

cover girl super sizer review

cover girl super sizer review

Cover Girl Super Sizer Mascara || Normally I'm a waterproof mascara kind of girl. I guess I have oily eyelids or something because regular mascara seems to find my underage area in a hurry! Lately though I've been trying to be a little easier on my lashes since I'm using a DIY eyelash serum. (Random, I know.) This wand is so cool! It allows you to apply a decent amount of product to the lash line and corners without being messy. I'm also amazed with how the formula wears. It wears like waterproof mascara but comes off like a regular formula would. Thats a win/win in my book!

Ok, that's all I've got! What have you tried and loved recently?

disclosure : I received both the blush and mascara free of charge. A review was not asked for nor expected. As always, all opinions are honest and my own.

Our Weekend...

Happy Monday! I hope you had a fantastic weekend and got outside! We had pretty fantastic weather up here and were thrilled to get out and enjoy it. :)

A little recap of our weekend if you will... Starting of course with the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! I know you've seen a billion shopping guides for this sale, so I won't bore you with mine, but instead share what I've purchased...so far. ;)

The leggings in the photo aren't the exact ones I purchased. I got the Zella high waisted ones that are solid black but they have already sold out! Which is yet another reason I'm thankful to have a Nordstrom debit card this year to take advantage of shopping the anniversary sale early. (I just have the debit card.) I do have an alterations reimbursement and a note headed my way from Nordstrom so the Anniversary Sale purchases may not me over for me just yet. ;)

Friday we kept things super low key which was amazing! We finally had a break in the home showings so we just spent the day playing outside and wandering around downtown Palmer. Every Friday in the summer Palmer has the "Friday Fling." It's a small farmers market type event with a couple of food vendors and live music. I'm embarrassed to say that even though we live just around the corner, it was our first time going this year. :/ Mallory really enjoyed it! The best part though was when Mike decided he needed to eat and we parked ourselves in a garden! Mal is really into "flaffles" (flowers) and loves to blow on them (smell them.) Another mom had a similar idea with her twin boys who were very close in age to Mallory--impromptu playdate anyone?! Mal didn't make it out of the parking lot before falling asleep! Friday night success!

Despite the pleasant look on Mike's face, Saturday morning was a complete rat race! We had multiple showings on the books and the kids were conspiring to ensure nothing was cleaned. By the time we finally made it out of the house, with 5 minutes to spare, Mallory only had on a diaper and my purse was fresh out of diapers, wipes and spare clothing for the kids. I'm calling it a win though because the house was presentable and we were crashing a friends house who had diapers to spare! Phew!

Once the showing were over, we dropped the dogs off at the house and headed straight back to downtown Palmer for the Midsummer Garden and Art Faire! Unlike Friday Fling, this is only a one time per summer event so I really wanted to make sure we stopped by!

Ah such a great, small town vibe at this event! There was a good variety of local businesses with tents set up as well as quite a few food truck options. Score, because you know I wasn't about to cook dinner that night. ;)

I loved being able to park the stroller on the side of a little hill, throw down a blanket at set up shop. We ate, listened to live music and watched Mally play. Does a Saturday night get much better than that?

Oh wait! It did because when we got home, the kids BOTH went to sleep within and hour of each other!! I painted my nails, did a little beauty maintenance, had a beer and got to watch TV. Wild I tell ya, WILD!

Sunday is quite possibly my favorite day of the week. No appointments. No pressing errands. Life just seems to slow down and I love that! We spent the day getting the house back in order and playing outside. Seriously, each day with Mallory seems to bring something new. She is learning so so much right now and it is a pleasure to participate in.

She has been totally obsessed with her new wagon and has really enjoyed going for rides around the neighborhood. Sunday though, she decided she wanted to "awk" her self and boy did she have an agenda! She insisted on wearing her snow boots and I quickly saw why--home girl wanted to explore and collect every rock and flower in sight!

The walk took forever and we really didn't make it very far, but oh the sweet joy of watching my daughter learn and grow.

Ooops, sorry! That one got a little sappy on you. How much longer can I blame postpartum hormones for the crazy?
