Our Weekend in Photos

This weekend was one for the books. Just so so good! Not because we did anything particularly exciting, because we didn't, it was just good. Everyone was together, we are all healthy, and the weather was insanely perfect. If that isn't the recipe for an amazing weekend, then I don't know what is!

I'm going to try and keep the verbage to a minimum and let the 19848395 photos I took this weekend do the talking. Seriously, adding a baby to the mix gives me soooo many more opportunities to take photos than when I was in the primary toddler wrangler. Now, Kyle does the toddler wrangling and I do the baby wearing. Score!

First up was Pyrah's Pioneer Peak Farm. We always have such a great time picking veggies here--not to mention their prices can't be beat! Kyle and Mallory actually came earlier in the week while I was out of town but things were pretty picked over. I saw on their Instagram that a couple more of our favorite veggies opened for the season, so we decided to make the grueling 10 minute drive out to the farm. ;)

Mallory loves the farm! She spends most of her time harvesting rocks and smelling the "flaffles" (flowers)--but will pitch in every now and then to drop veggies in our bag and drag it for a few feet before she's off exploring again.

Zucchini, kale, cabbage, and broccoli were on our list for us!

It was a blistering 67 degrees in Palmer on Saturday morning which most certainly called for an ice cream sandwich while Dad paid for our haul.

Sunday morning we got off to a slow start, but I didn't hear anyone complaining. ;) We cooked breakfast, read some books, and watched tv in our diapers--the perfect Sunday morning if you ask me!

After nap time we were off to pick some raspberries at a local spot right at the base of Pioneer Peak!

So, here's the thing. Kyle is the only one who actually picked any raspberries... Mike fussed, I stood around and took pictures, and Mallory stole berries from the bucket to eat. Teamwork, right?

From there, we piled back in the car and headed just an exit or two down the Glenn Hwy to Eklutna Lake. This is seriously one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen! The Eklutha Lake Recreation Area just has so much to offer! Expansive hiking and biking trail systems, campgrounds, water sports, equipment rentals, Eklutna just has it all. Not to mention there is an ice cream stand just outside the entrance to the park... Anyway, the plan was to grill up some hotdogs at the car before heading down to the water to hang out.

I mean come on...how stunning is this scenery?!

Mike actually stayed awake the entire time we were at the lake! He seemed to really enjoy the sensory overload. Ha!

We made a quick stop at Sportsmans' for Kyle to grab some things he needed to go fishing today then headed home with a couple of extremely tired kids! As luck would have it, someone in the valley is trying to bring the ice cream truck back in style and we were happy to support the cause, even if it was bedtime. ;)

And thats all she wrote! Happy Monday :)
